A Note from the UCTNA President

Doug Honeyford | Published on 10/20/2024

I was honored to be elected as your President for the 2024-2025 term earlier this summer and on behalf of the Board of Directors today I would like to share some of our vision for this year.

UCT North America is definitely a different organization as we no longer have a Home Office staff to assist us with all of the things you do. We now have a new Membership Renewal and Communication System and all of our operations are run by volunteers like yourself and I encourage all Members to step up and assist us with the programs that will be announced.

So you ask .. where are we headed?

The quick and easy response is as an organization it is our goal to assist you as a member, and specifically your council to continue doing all of the wonderful things you have been doing for your community. Over the decades you have provided hundreds of scholarships, millions of dollars in financial support, and countless volunteer hours to make every corner of North America a better place to live. This we will continue with your support.

Shortly your Board of Directors will announce the new UCTNA award programs for 2025 and I know you will be anxious to participate. It is vital that you get your membership dues up to date, contact your local secretary and see where you stand. Ask your local council if they have made a donation to the Ann Marshall Scholarship Program this year as we plan to award scholarships this coming year. UCT Charities is alive and well and we also seek contributions for the magnificent scholarships that have continued to be made.

Your local council and your membership make everything happen. Please reach out to your local executives and see if you can play an even bigger part in all they do. Consider stepping up and seek election to your local council, your region, as well as International governing bodies.

In closing as we say farewell to summer, and every council from coast to coast to coast gets very busy, I want to thank you for your patience as we have gone through this transition, and apologize for the lack of information you have been given to date, we promise to do a better job of communication. I want to thank you for your membership, our members represent the best of the best. You are indeed very special people.

Fraternally yours,

Doug
